Carol’s professional background is rooted in business owning and operating a sign business for over 40 years. As a successful entrepreneur, she honed skills in strategic planning, problem-solving, and negotiation—skills she has carried into her work as a City Councilor. Her business experience provides a solid foundation for addressing Richmond’s economic challenges and identifying opportunities to support local businesses.
Before being elected to the City Council, Carol dedicated years to volunteering with various local organizations. Her advocacy work spanned improving new developmentsenvironmental conservation, affordable housing, and improved public transit. These efforts positioned her as a trusted voice in the community, known for her ability to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Saving the Garden city lands from development and fighting to stop Jet Fuel tankers on the Fraser river are just a few of the campaigns she spearheaded.
Carol was also elected as a Board of Education School Trustee which gave her valuable experience and insight when addressing the needs of Richmond’s children.
